A FRESHER, YOUNGER AND LESS TIRED LOOK
Eyelids are one of the first facial features that give away your age. Whether you have drooping upper eyelids or puffy, wrinkled lower eyelids, sometimes being rested and healthy isn't enough to give your eyes that youthful glow. Blepharoplasty (also known as eyelid surgery) can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both.
BLEPHAROPLASTY BEFORE AND AFTERS
Actual Patients...
What is Blepharoplasty?
-
This procedure involves revitalizing the eye area by removing sagging skin from the upper eyelids, tightening drooping lower eyelids, and reducing puffy bags under the eyes. It is typically combined with other facial contouring procedures, such as facelift, brow lift, and rhinoplasty.
-
Anesthesia: Usually is performed under general anesthesia, but can be performed with local anesthesia and sedation.
-
Surgical time: 1-3 hrs. depending on procedures.
-
Recovery time: Most patients can return to normal activities after 2 WEEKS, although it is important to avoid strenuous activities for several more weeks.
Am I a good candidate for a Blepharoplasty?
-
Blepharoplasty is a treatment that can be performed by both men and women from the age of 35 onwards, younger people with hereditary eyelid problems may opt for the procedure.
-
Ideal candidates for blepharoplasty are those who have realistic expectations about the outcome of the procedure. Although eyelid surgery can make you look younger and more confident, it will not eliminate wrinkles, dark circles or drooping eyebrows. Before undergoing surgery, if you suffer from dry eyes, high blood pressure, circulatory problems, thyroid disorders, diabetes, heart disease or glaucoma, you should speak with your surgeon to ensure that blepharoplasty is the right procedure for you.
Keep it in mind:
Every patient is different, and your plastic surgery result is not the same as everyone else's. The procedure cannot stop the natural aging process. Factors such as skin elasticity, sun exposure, and lifestyle choices (such as smoking and weight changes) can affect the longevity of the improvements.
EYELID SURGERIES
Upper Eye Lid
Skin loses flexibility and elasticity with age, and sagging skin can make it difficult to open the eyes, which reduces vision. Upper eyelid surgery reduces sagging skin over the eye. Excess skin and tissue are removed through small incisions, restoring eyelid function.
Lower Eye Lid
Lower blepharoplasty is the surgery that seeks cosmetic improvement of the lower eyelid. It is the surgery that corrects the fatty bags and grooves of the lower eyelids, as well as laxity, folds and wrinkles, improving the aesthetics of the lower eyelid.
Transconjunctival Eyelid
The removal of the fat pads is done through the lower conjunctiva (inside the eyelid) which means that there is no scar on the skin and better recovery. Ask which technique is best for you.
